Conditional campaign rules
Use ordered conditions and destinations without losing a default route.
Choose the condition
Open a campaign's rules section. Select the actual property the rule evaluates, such as a geographic, device, source-token or visitor characteristic exposed by the rule editor.
Define and order rules
- Give the rule a descriptive name.
- Choose the field, comparison operator and expected value.
- Review how multiple conditions are combined in the editor.
- Select the path or destination to use when the condition matches.
- Check the rule's position relative to other matching rules.
- Save and retain a usable default distribution.
A broad rule placed before a specific one can prevent the specific case from receiving traffic. Include overlapping conditions in your test plan.
Test with evidence
Use a controlled request whose properties you can establish. Inspect Clicklog for the recorded country, device or token, and compare the resulting route. Changing a browser label or adding an arbitrary query parameter does not necessarily change the property used by detection.
Debug a mismatch
Check whether the rule reads the correct token, whether comparison values use the expected format and whether another rule matched first. Review the actual click context before changing several conditions together. Disable a new rule while investigating if it disrupts a live destination.
