Smart rotation and visitor fixing
Understand how visitor context affects destination selection.
Select the intended behavior
The campaign distribution selector offers different behaviors. Normal rotation uses relative weights among eligible items. Smart rotation uses supported visit or conversion history to vary selection. Fixing keeps a visitor associated with a selected item according to the configured mode.
Configure deliberately
- Start with verified default paths and offers.
- Choose the distribution mode in the campaign.
- Review uniqueness and visitor-history settings used by that mode.
- Check interaction with rules and caps.
- Save and test both a new visitor context and a repeat visit.
Read results correctly
Repeated visits from one browser do not sample independent visitors. Cookies, IP-based uniqueness and the tracker context can influence the result. A change in path on a subsequent visit is not by itself a routing failure.
Validate the experiment
Record the initial path, offer and conversion state. Repeat the visit with the same context, then compare a separate authorized test context. Use Clicklog to explain the selection. Keep the test small and controlled rather than generating traffic merely to force a percentage.
If behavior differs
Check the effective mode and the saved shared rotation. Review uniqueness and active rules before changing weights, since weights alone cannot explain history-dependent routing.
